Patrick J. Burt is the Associate Vice President for Communications and Marketing and oversees the university’s branding, advertising and reputation efforts, as well as media relations, issues management and crisis communications. He is responsible for the university’s award-winning website (ucf.edu), social media, news site (UCF Today) and magazine (Pegasus), and for developing and implementing strategies to increase revenue and build pride among the university’s stakeholders. He also works to create partnerships across campus to align messaging and marketing campaigns to present a cohesive university experience, including overseeing marketing efforts for UCF Online. A native of Lakeland, Florida, Burt joined UCF in June 2005, after serving as a designer and art director for local ad and digital agencies. He holds a bachelor’s in graphic design from North Carolina State University and a master’s in applied sociology from UCF.
